MDGs: Looking Back Before Moving Forward

The United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set out to reduce extreme poverty globally with the support of all 191 UN member states. The MDGs helped lift 1 billion people around the world out of extreme poverty by 2015. With so much work to be done, it was important to develop a platform and integrated data solution to ensure the effort and accomplishments of the MDGs were understood and accessible to all.

Our Vision
Base Three developed an interactive mapping of the MDGs in order to highlight the important gains that were made in global poverty reduction. We wanted to create an integrated data solution that visualized the achievements of the MDGs over the past two decades, both at the regional and country levels. It was important to create a tool that could deliver the message effectively for different audiences and users. The platform would aid with The World Bank Groups’ outreach by engaging both the audience and media.
